Oral history and indigenous school education: a critic to formal schooling

Indigenous Schooling Education is a field of innumerous discussions. The present paper has the
objective of to do a critic to the standard model and universalistic view of knowledge and to present
a discussion regarding the possibility of changing the education model using the oral history as a base
of transformation. The research was realized using the Brazilian and Canadian current reality
regarding the theme and with schools’ visits in both countries. We believe that a critic to the current
schooling model with a formation of a new educational perspective can be related to the use of oral
history and orality as a foundation to transformation.
