Abstract

The present study intends to discuss human freedom and the perception of free man, according to the thinking of the philosopher Spinoza. The aim of this research is basically to analyze the perception of human freedom and the foundations of affection, demonstrating the relationship between them. From this, it can be observed that freedom in Spinoza is about an internal determination of the subject, which the subject acts according to his needs, not influencing himself on external causes. In carrying out the work, a bibliographical research of the work Ethics of Spinoza was used, seeking to carry out a discursive analysis of human freedom and the relationship of human beings' affections, demonstrating that freedom is based on the action of man in acting by virtue. that is, acting exclusively in accordance with the laws of nature itself, but without letting oneself be carried away by external causes. Even more, Spinoza emphasizes that human freedom is predetermined by the principle of natural freedom, divine freedom, submitted freedom and free will. Finally, this work seeks in a singular way to bring a perception about the issues that guide Spinoza's freedom and affections.
