MARX AND THE ONTOLOGY OF ALIENATION

A Critique to Capitalist Society

Abstract

This article addresses Karl Marx's theory of ontology of alienation and his critique of capitalist society, establishing a dialogue with the thought of philosopher Emmanuel Kant. Both are fundamental thinkers in their respective areas and their ideas have relevant points of convergence and divergence, although they have different approaches, it is possible to establish a connection between the thoughts of both. With this objective in mind, some research was necessary regarding the ontological aspects addressed by both philosophers. The methodology used constitutes an exploratory research, based on authorial and bibliographical articles and books. Exploring the ontology of alienation in the context of capitalist society, the article will examine how Marx and Kant understand the alienation of the individual, the role of work, and the underlying social and economic structures. By establishing this dialogue, we seek to enrich the understanding of Marx's critique of capitalist society, also considering Kant's contributions in the reflection on alienation and the search for human emancipation.
